Learn Jewelcraft

Jewelcraft

Jewelcraft is the art associated with making all kinds of wonderful wares. Powerful rings, earrings, necklaces, wrists and veils all crafted by the artisans practicing this skill. Jewelcraft is not limited to enchanters, but if you're not an enchanter, being friendly with one will really come in handy.

Jewelcraft has also changed over the years and newer more powerful systems that combine rings with different cut gems has evolved for all to partake.

  • You can still combine bars and gems to make some items, though ones with stats are only valid on TLP servers
  • You can also make matching cut gems and settings that are combined into the final item (started in Prophecy of Ro)
  • You can also craft settings into which you can insert gems you've cut into different shapes (started in Secrets of Paydwer)
  • The most recent incarnation of jewelcraft requires tradeskillers to craft items that are effectively containers that can be traded to other players, but in order to turn the container into a final, wearable piece, the player must obtain a no trade item from an expansion relevant named to place into the item and combine to empower it (started in TBM)

You'll find our latest guide for learning the art of Jewelcraft below. Enjoy!

Getting Started

The first thing you need to do is acquire a Jewelry Kit which is the container in which this tradeskill is practiced. There are several types of Jewelry Kits. These are portable and kept in your inventory. There are also stationary containers that can be used to make combines. There are also some other tools that you'll eventually need to make some combines, especially if you're trying to learn enough recipes to achieve 350.

NOTE: The Setting Tools and the Cut Tools can be combined in a Jewelry Kit by themselves to "turn them into" another item. For example, if you put a Solo Setting Tool in a Jeweler's Kit and combine, it will turn into a Duo Setting Tool. If you place the Duo Setting Tool into the kit and combine, it will turn into a Trio Setting Tool. If you place the Trio Setting Tool into the kit and combine it will turn into a Square Cut Tool, etc. You only need to purchase one and you can evolve it into the other items if you're short on space.

Once you have your Jeweler's Kit, make your way over to Crescent Reach and seek out Jeweler Chuma on the second floor of the main building and complete the Freebie Tasks he offers. If you prefer, there are also Freebie quest versions for Jewelcraft offer in Abysmal Sea.

Skill Modifiers

If you're new to tradeskilling and aren't familiar with Tradeskill Modifiers, you can find many questions answered in this FAQ:

Now head over to West Freeport and pay a visit to Event Coordinator Baublie Diggs and get the Beginner Jewelcraft Test. This will give you the Beginner Jewelcraft Trophy, a skill modifier that will evolve to higher modifications as your skill increases.

Notes:

Alternatively you can acquire a Geerlok Gem Setter from a tinkerer. That will add 5% to your base skill to help with successes. You must equip it in order to apply the boost to your base skill. The modifiers from the Trophy and the Geerlok do not stack. You will get the highest benefit between the two equipped items. Once you have evolved your trophy to Journeyman level, you no longer need the Geerlok.

Alternate Advancement Points

If you have already advanced one of your 7 standard tradeskills past 200, you will need to purchase one level of New Tanaan Crafting Master in order to raise your jewelcraft skill higher than 200.
